– We are so happy to arrange this event! This is our second community event ever, and to be able to come to another country and meet our community means so much to us.
Those were the opening words of MD’s Saga Sjöberg, responsible for the MD VIP Community, when she welcomed the guests to the MD x Equestrain event in Helsinki, Finland. It was mid-October, and we had been preparing and planning for this day for six whole months. The room was filled to the brim with positive vibes and exciting first meetings, and everyone there was in for a day of fun workouts, valuable knowledge, and encouraging inspiration.
The event was themed around equestrian workouts, and took place in a lovely New York-inspired pilates studio. 🩰 Guests included members from the MD VIP Community and equestrian social media profiles, as well as Equestrain ambassadors.
“To be able to meet our community means so much to us.”
– Saga Sjöberg, CRM Specialist & Responsible for MD VIP Community
The day started with a lecture from Laura Ahti, workout coach and CEO of Equestrain, on the importance of mindful workouts for equestrians. Then, a workout session was held, during which all the guests worked on their core muscles, back, and shoulders – these muscle groups are particularly important for a stable seat in the saddle. It was tough but so rewarding (and we had a blast together)!
Post-workout means recovery, so of course we made sure to offer everyone nourishing protein bars and smoothies afterward. 🍏 🍫 Anything else? Oh, the guests had luxurious goody bags with Maya Delorez items, of course!
So, what did the participants think of the occasion? Two of the MD VIP Members on-site were Anna and Anu.
– The event was really nice and well organized. The food and all the drinks were amazing, and the outfits we got in the goody bags were on point. And the workout was really sweaty! Anna says.
– It was so inspiring, and I think that, especially because we are online a lot, you do so many training sessions online and remote, so it was very nice to have all the equestrian people around you, Anu fills in.
Did you learn anything new?
– I think one thing I learned today was how important your pelvis is, how much it affects your posture, and how it can influence you as a whole by changing your system, Anu answers.
– Yeah, I learned a lot about my balance and that I’m actually really unbalanced. So, I have things to work on! Anna states and continues:
– The fact that you should balance your weight correctly on your feet (and that being the whole feet – not just the outer part of it), that was one pain point for me.
“The event was super fun, and it also gave me a lot of ideas on how we can develop as riders.”
– Janika, MD VIP Member
Two other guests, Janika and Ella, described their experience as intense and eye-opening.
– It was super fun, and it also gave me a lot of ideas on how we can develop as riders. I learned plenty of new things, and I’m quite sure I need to get the exercise program for myself! Janika says.
– Yes, it was fun and I learned a lot, and it was kind of a sweaty workout! Ella laughs and continues:
– Normally, I train arms and legs, but this session focused more on the different parts of the body, your abs and all.
Janika agrees and tells us that the session shed light on how the different parts of the body connect and work together, and how that can elevate your performance in the saddle.
– Usually, you just exercise one part of the body at a time. Of course, combining these different movements during a workout makes a difference, she says.
We want to say a huge thank you to our collaboration partners for the event, and to all who joined us for this special day. We will remember it for a long time (not just because of the muscle soreness) and we hope to see our community again soon. 🫂
